Alternate transport

Jurisdiction: New South Wales

How can we make NSW a cycling-friendly state?

Bicycle riding as a short-distance transport method can go a long way to support the zero-carbon emission goal Australia is planning.

However, there are challenges to making bicycle riding a viable or attractive option. For example, there can be roadwork, lack of cycle lanes, busy roads.

How can we use open data to identify these hazards in urban areas? For example, when construction work is happening. How cyclists can be better informed on construction zones, optimal biking paths, and anything else that may deter or encourage bicycle riding as an alternate transport method.

Develop a project for urban areas that would help make NSW a cycling-friendly state.

Entry: Challenge entry is available to all teams in Australia.
