Event Information
GovHack is an annual Open Data competition held across Australia. In 2023 it will be held on the weekend of 18th - 20th August
In 46 hours teams create a project page, proof of concept and a video that tells the story of how government data can be reused.
ACT venue is Amazon Web Services (AWS) Canberra Office, located on Level 10 of 68 Northbourne Avenue. Large training rooms and open plan kitchen/meeting areas have been reserved for GovHack event.
The foyer at 68 Northbourne is locked outside standard business hours, a guard will be in the foyer during the event to provide access to GovHack participants. Please note, pre-registration is required to attend this venue.
Friday, August 18th
· 05:00 PM: Doors open! Registration and early networking.
· 05:00 PM: Drinks and canapes.
· 06:00 PM – 06:15PM: Local presentations kick off.
· 07:00 PM: Challenge announcement.
· 07:05 PM: Insights into local challenges.
· 07:30 PM - 9:00 PM: Continued networking, light dinner, and team formation.
· 10:00 PM: Doors close.
Saturday, August 19th
· 08:00AM: Venue doors open bright and early.
· 09:00AM: Mentor morning tea – Local mentors lightening talk.
· 12:00PM: Challenge finalisation.
· 12:00PM: Lunch served.
· 03:00PM: Afternoon tea served.
· 04:00PM: Trivia night (via Zoom). Get ready for some fun!
· 07:00PM: Light dinner served.
· 10:00PM: Doors close.
Sunday, August 20th
· 08:00 AM: Venue reopens for the day.
· 09:00 AM: Morning tea served.
· 12:00 PM: Video progress.
· 12:00 PM: Lunch Served
· 03:00 PM: Recommended time to upload videos/projects.
· 03:00PM: Afternoon tea.
· 04:00 PM: Project submission deadline.
· 04:00 PM - 5:30 PM: Closing ceremony, video screenings, peer judging, and the grand conclusion of our event.
· 06:00 PM: Doors close.
