Data Story

We combined Australian Bureau of Statistics census data and the ACT Government Territory Plan Land Use Zones to generate a realistic model of where Canberra residents live and work. We then paired this with Transport Canberra's NXTBUS public transport database to show how people could, or could not, utilise the existing bus network based on people's intended movements throughout the city. Users can also augment the NXTBUS dataset in our application, adding their own bus routes and examining the impact of this on the network as a whole.
